On Thursday, Billboard magazine posted a tweet with a link to an article calling Kanye West, the rapper now known as Ye, the "Top Gospel Artist of 2022."
The tweet was one of many mentioning top artists across various genres, but this one had the unique misfortune of being posted around the same time.
“Every person has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler,” Ye told Jones on Thursday, noting that “Hitler was born a Christian.”
Billboard has since deleted the tweet, but it survives in screenshots for posterity. The tweet was likely written and should go live on Twitter ahead of Yes' appearance on show.
The rapper has long been on a troubling trajectory, making anti-Semitic remarks and recently spending time with white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
As of Thursday afternoon, none of this has been mentioned in the article Billboard linked to on Twitter, although another Billboard article details Ye's recent behavior.
Yep, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West just said, "I love Hitler." The comment even shocked Alex Jones on a Dec. 1 episode of InfoWars.
Ye also made the false claim that Hitler invented microphones and highways. “I see good things about Hitler,” Ye says in a minute-long monologue.
Dave Chappelle has yet to comment, but several other celebs have. Josh Gad said he's more afraid of Ye's "30 million followers" than Ye.
"No one who says 'I love Hitler' should be given oxygen on any social platform," he added. Writer Mark Harris called the "horrors of Kanye" "ridiculous" but "also terrifying".
